A famous celebrity-favorite rehabilitation center in the hills of Malibu is on sale for $28 million?!

Hello! I'm KAREN, a marketing intern at SoCalization.

Malibu is a city with fashionable streets and where Hollywood celebrities and musicians live.

This time, I would like to introduce to you the story of a dreamy celebrity rehabilitation facility located in such a place, "Promise Malibu" that is for sale! (*It is like a mental health treatment facility)

For years, Promise Malibu has been a popular detox destination for stars.

Celebrities such as Britney Spears, Charlie Sheen, and Lindsay Lohan have also come here to seek this kind of relaxation!

In addition to rehabilitation, we also offer tennis lessons, massages, horse riding, and more...

And now, the coastal mansion is up for sale for a whopping $19.95 million.

19.95 million dollars is about 2.83 billion yen at the current exchange rate. It's hard to imagine such a large sum of money for Malibu...lol

Historically, Promise Malibu was founded in 1989 by real estate developer Richard Rogg as the area's first luxury rehab center.

Rogg pioneered what became known as the "Malibu Model," which offered a different kind of recovery method to celebrities.

Cell phones are allowed at this facility and patients are free to leave the facility, go to the gym, and keep to their schedule with complete freedom!

"It was a combo of proper medical treatment and a health spa," says the real estate agent who currently owns the property.

The "Malibu Model" became extremely popular among Hollywood's elite, including actors Ben Affleck and Robert Downey Jr., and singer Diana Ross.

Following the success of Promise Malibu, a for-profit operating in a field typically run by nonprofits, Malibu's sweeping vistas and ocean-view cliffs soon became filled with similar-looking rehab facilities, all wrapped up in the gloss of luxury resorts.

However, America is a litigious country. Due to lawsuits from residents and scandals such as those providing services without medical licenses, Logg sold the business in 2007 (only the business, not the land).

The new owners filed for bankruptcy in 2018, and Promise eventually closed.

A new rehab facility opened in its place and is still operating on the site today.

The new buyer will have to honor the lease on the existing rehab facility, but will then be able to change the business model or use of the property as they wish.

Landon, the real estate agent, said he envisions tech companies or foreign buyers developing the land into private oases, or developers turning it into a luxury assisted living facility for the elderly.

The three-acre property features three detached homes totaling 12 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms across 9,300 square feet. Most of them are Mediterranean in style, have been renovated several times over the years, and include amenities like two pools and tennis courts.

The beautiful landscaping is dotted with oak and fruit trees, plus there are three entrances and ample parking for guests.

It's so vast I can't even imagine it.

"It's three lots joined together, so it has a mixed-use feel. There are lots of structures, but there's also privacy," Landon says.

We are excited to see who will buy such a gorgeous building!

The building we introduced this time is located in Malibu, a city that is also famous for its wine!

SoCalization also carries Malibu wines .

Why not enjoy some wine at home and experience the feeling of being a Malibu celebrity in Japan?
