Pizza Port

In March 1987, Gina and Vince Marsaglia, a brother and sister duo in their twenties, bought a struggling pizza place in the sleepy coastal town of Solana Beach, just north of San Diego. Soon after, Vince started dabbling in home brewing in the store's warehouse space. As the hobby took off, and with the encouragement of friends and fans, Vince and Gina decided to get into the brewpub business. In 1992, Pizza Port served its first craft beer to patrons, quickly becoming a hit on the San Diego craft beer scene.

Following the success of its Solana Beach location, the company steadily expanded. A second location opened in Carlsbad in 1997. A third location opened in San Clemente in 2003. In 2008, a premium bottle shop was added adjacent to the Carlsbad location, offering hundreds of choices from other breweries in the craft beer community. A fourth PizzaPort location opened in Ocean Beach in 2010. And most recently, a fifth location opened in Carlsbad's Bressi Ranch community in 2013, adding a canning line and bringing PizzaPort beer to stores across San Diego County!

To date, Pizza Port locations have won a total of more than 91 medals and awards at the Great American Beer Festival.
