If compared to Bordeaux, it has the power and complexity of a left bank Champagne Latour.
The name of this wine, which has many elements, means "so much" in Latin. The vineyard is located on the steep slopes of volcanic bedrock on the magnificent slopes of Spring Mountain. The first vintage was in 2003. The high altitude and northeast-facing slope that is not exposed to the western sun give the wine its powerful tannins, spices, and earthy nuances that are characteristic of mountain cabernet. The black fruits bounce around energetically in the mouth, and the seamless soft texture coats the mouth, leading to firm tannins with hidden strength at the core and a long finish.
“Pluribus”
The name comes from the Latin meaning "so much" and was chosen to express that this is a wonderful wine that comes from many different elements: the sun, the soil, the climate, and the team members who work on winemaking and evolve the wine.
The first vintage was 2003.
Strict selection and sorting of the grapes at harvest time ensures that this small vineyard produces grapes of the highest quality.
The high altitude and northeast-facing slope of the vineyards give the wines the powerful tannins and resin (pine resin), spices, and soil nuances that are characteristic of mountain vines.
Vintage Information
Thanks to the warm and smooth growing season in 2018, the vivid aromas are impressive. The flowering was very good and we were able to expect a higher yield than usual. When we tasted the grapes to check the timing of the harvest in early October, they were uniformly ripe in every plot, and we were able to harvest excellent grapes from all plots in just three days.
Tasting Comments
Pluribus is located on a steep western slope overlooking Napa Valley (not exposed to the western sun), so it expresses the personality of the vintage well. In 2018, the nuances of the forest are very apparent in the aroma, and the youthful energy including dark berries, resin, and earthiness coexists with soft and supple tannins. It is as if you can feel both the youth of the wine and the maturity of the grape trees. If you compare it to Bordeaux, it has the power and complexity of Ch. Latour on the left bank.
