Made from select grapes grown in the Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley sub-AVAs of Sonoma County.

Fermented in French oak barrels and partially subjected to malolactic fermentation, this wine has a balanced, refreshing, bright, rich fruit character and a pleasant, full-bodied mid-palate.

Aromas of Asian pear, delicate honeysuckle, lemon jam and pineapple cake.

On the palate, flavours of fresh pineapple and honeycrisp apple mingle with tangy lemon curd.

Tahitian vanilla, caramel and light toast finish in this cool climate Sonoma "textbook" wine.

The Sonoma County AVA coastal wine region, a world-class wine region, lies west of the Mayacamas Mountains and stretches toward the Pacific Ocean.

This AVA is known for its diverse soils, microclimates and topography.

<Alexander Valley> The gravelly loam soil has excellent drainage and water retention, which is ideal for grape growth.

-Coastal fog from the nearby Pacific Ocean rolls in through the Russian River corridor.

The fog settles in the valley floor in the evening, cooling the grapes and preserving their acidity.

Dry Creek Valley: This region's well-drained soil is composed primarily of gravel, sandstone and shale and is rich in minerals and nutrients.

The large difference between daytime highs and nighttime lows allows the grapes to maintain their acidity and develop complex flavors.

-Exhibits the "textbook" characteristics of Sonoma Chardonnay: fruit, bright acidity and elegance.

Fermentation in new French oak barrels allows for a wonderful blend of toasty aromas and a full mid-palate without overemphasizing the fruitiness.

- Partial malolactic fermentation is carried out with great care to avoid excessive diacetyl-induced buttery and cheesy aromas, resulting in a creamy, fresh texture while maintaining a refreshing, uplifting character.

Fermentation: 100% barrel fermentation, 35% ML Aging: 8 months in French oak (30% new barrels) Production: 5,750 cases Bottled: March 2023 Released: April 2023 TEXTBOOK was founded in 2004 by longtime wine industry veterans Jonathan and Susan Pay, and produces beautiful wines from the enviable vineyards of Napa Valley and Oakville.

Jonathan speaks French and lived in Europe for several years as a child, which is where his wine career began.

He gained winemaking experience working for Louis Jadot in France, and Penfolds and Robert Mondavi in Australia.

This background has led to TEXTBOOK's ``powerful yet balanced'' winemaking style, whose reputation is growing year by year.

The name of the wine, TEXTBOOK, does not refer to a school "textbook"; when Susan tasted the first wine they had made, she said, "This wine is a typical, exemplary Napa wine TEXTBOOK.

This comes from the fact that he once let slip, "

(Jonathan often uses the analogy "this textbook": "Ferrari is the textbook on Italian cars."

(Apparently, this is a textbook for saying "preparation") The flagship's Mison Plus is a culinary term meaning "preparation" in French, and it emphasizes that when making wine or cooking, it is most important to prepare high-quality ingredients (grapes), and that the tools you use are well-maintained and lined up in order, so that you are fully prepared before making your wine.

The name comes from this idea.

The Mizon Plus Cabernet comes from the Boulder Block Vineyard/Vyborny Vineyard adjacent to Screaming Eagle, and the Merlot (Holmes Vineyard) is located below the slopes of Harlan, next to To Kalon.

(Holmes Vineyard's Cabernet is used by Nickel and Nickel under the name Branding Iron Vineyard.

) TEXTBOOK does not own its own tasting room or winery facilities.

"It costs so much money to have a facility in Napa.

If I'm going to put that much money into it, I'd rather spend it on better barrels and winemaking equipment.

" says Jonathan.

This winery is said by Robert Parker to be "a true wine that consumers should pay attention to; there are real treasures in this lineup."
