"Mise En Place" is a French culinary term that literally means "everything in its place."

The name reflects the preparation and hard work that goes on in the vineyards and winery.

This beautiful Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon was crafted for restraint rather than power.

Incredibly rich in color, it exhibits aromas of blackcurrant, juicy plum, dark chocolate and baking spices.

The palate has structure and ripe tannins with a wonderfully long finish.

This wine will age for 5 to 15 years.

Oakville AVAConsidered Napa's greatest viticultural region, Oakville stretches across two miles between the Mayacamas Mountains to the west and the Vaca Mountains to the east.

It is known for its diverse soils, near-perfect climate and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Vineyards: Hand-picked from two mature, well-drained vineyards in Oakville: Vyborny Vineyard and Holmes Vineyard.

-The terrain is characterized by steep hills that are bathed in the warm afternoon sun.

The soil is a gravelly alluvial deposit, with large rocks mixed into a well-drained gravelly loam layer.

- Clones include a Heritage Selection (probably from Beaulieu Block).

*Vaiboni Vineyard: Located on the rocky ground on the eastern side of the Oakville District AVA, next to Screaming Eagle.

*Holmes Vineyard: A vineyard located west of Oakville, near To Kalon, down the slope from Harlan.

- The grape clusters are selected in the field, then hand-picked and further hand-selected at the winery.

After destemming, soak at low temperature for 2 days.

After 31-33 days in contact with the skins, each lot is gently transferred into barrels to complete the ML.

- Made from the highest quality French oak: Nadalier and Giraud.

TEXTBOOK was founded in 2004 by longtime wine industry veterans Jonathan and Susan Pei and produces beautiful wines from the enviable vineyards of Napa Valley and Oakville.

Jonathan speaks French and lived in Europe for several years as a child, which is where his wine career began.

He gained winemaking experience working for Louis Jadot in France, and Penfolds and Robert Mondavi in Australia.

This background has led to TEXTBOOK's ``powerful yet balanced'' winemaking style, whose reputation is growing year by year.

The name of the wine, TEXTBOOK, does not refer to a school "textbook"; when Susan tasted the first wine they had made, she said, "This wine is a typical, exemplary Napa wine TEXTBOOK.

This comes from the fact that he once let slip, "

(Jonathan often uses the analogy "this textbook": "Ferrari is the textbook on Italian cars."

(Apparently, this is a textbook for saying "preparation") The flagship's Mison Plus is a culinary term meaning "preparation" in French, and it emphasizes that when making wine or cooking, it is most important to prepare high-quality ingredients (grapes), and that the tools are well-maintained and lined up in order so that everything is in place before making a dish.

The name is based on this idea.

The Mizon Plus Cabernet comes from the Boulder Block Vineyard/Vyborny Vineyard adjacent to Screaming Eagle, and the Merlot (Holmes Vineyard) is located below the slopes of Harlan, next to To Kalon.

(Holmes Vineyard's Cabernet is used by Nickel and Nickel under the name Branding Iron Vineyard.

) TEXTBOOK does not own its own tasting room or winery facilities.

"It costs so much money to have a facility in Napa.

If I'm going to put that much money into it, I'd rather spend it on better barrels and winemaking equipment.

" says Jonathan.

This winery is said by Robert Parker to be "a true wine that consumers should pay attention to; there are real treasures in this lineup."
