This high-quality Cabernet is a balanced blend of grapes from five different locations in Napa Valley, as well as Mendocino and Lakeland, each with their own unique characteristics, and has a harmonious blend of flavors of black berries, spices, and mushrooms, a complex and deep flavor derived from low yields, and structure provided by good acidity and tannins.
Anna Monticelli studied abroad at the Sorbonne in France for a year during her senior year at UC Davis, learning French language and culture before returning to the United States. After graduating, she returned to France to further her studies at Ch. Cheval Blanc, a top chateau in Saint-Emilion, and then worked for the Bryant family in Napa.
Her husband Mario, whose father was an Italian and was a winemaker at Gallo, also studied viticulture and brewing at UC Davis. After graduating and gaining experience in Italy, he returned to Napa and worked as an assistant to Philippe Melka for four years. He then worked at several prestigious wineries, including Trinchero, before starting his own brand with Anna.
This is a cost-effective, authentic Cabernet made by two people with deep experience and love for Napa Valley and Bordeaux varieties.
