Fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks, and when halfway through, it is transferred to rice barrels for continued fermentation. Some of it undergoes malolactic fermentation, giving it a creamy impression. Aged in barrels for 8 months (25% new barrels). It also features fruity aromas of citrus, melon, and tropical fruits. It also has a strong acidity reflecting the Sonoma climate. A very well-balanced Chardonnay.
Vintage Information
In 2022, there was little rain and warm weather throughout the growing season, resulting in a small yield, but the grapes were rich in flavor, concentrated aromas, and a gentle acidity, which are characteristic of the variety, and were harvested in the last week of August.
Technical information
Brewing and aging: After 24 hours in a stainless steel tank, Montrachet yeast is added, and when fermentation is halfway complete, the wine is transferred to rice barrels for barrel fermentation, and then aged on the lees for 8 months in rice barrels (25% new barrels), with paddles being added once a week. 100% malolactic fermentation is achieved.

Field information
Frank Johnson Vineyards
Chardonnay was planted over 40 years ago and has since become Pedroncelli's main vineyard.
John Jr. Pedroncelli and vineyard manager Lance Blakely (Jim Pedroncelli's son-in-law) set aside a specific parcel of Johnson Vineyards for this wine.
The vineyard straddles two AVAs, Russian River Valley to the south and Dry Creek Valley to the north, but the parcel for this wine is in the Dry Creek Valley.
The two cool climate elements, including ocean fog and being adjacent to the confluence of two rivers, produce high quality wines.
