This deep garnet-colored Pinot Noir with ruby rims has a pronounced aroma of jam, coffee, and oak. The wine's complexity comes from the quality of the grapes grown in one of California's leading wine-producing regions. Meiomi Pinot Noir has a unique and precise aging process that gives it a structure and depth that is rarely found in regular Pinot Noir. Aged for six months in French oak barrels, this California red wine has fresh strawberry flavors and aromas of black berries and roasted coffee that give it complexity and depth. "Meiomi" means "coast" in the language of the Wappo people, a native American Indian who lived in the coastal areas of California. Although the Meiomi brand started out with just Pinot Noir, it has become very popular in restaurants across the United States, including being selected as the "No. 1 brand by the glass" by Wine & Spirits magazine in 2014. In 2015, it was ranked 20th in WineSpectator magazine's annual top 100, and Chardonnay was released in the same year, further boosting its popularity. The winery produces full-bodied wines that are typical of California, using carefully selected grapes from Sonoma, Monterey, and Santa Barbara counties, which are famous wine-producing areas along the coast.
