The vineyard is mainly from Lodai. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is pressed and returned to the tanks to complete fermentation (resulting in a mild flavor). It is aged for 7 months in French and American barrels (used for several years). It has a vivid purple color, aromas of blackberries and blueberries, and the flavors of caramel, toffee, and chocolate from barrel aging add a touch of elegance. It has a mild astringency and a pleasant, lingering aftertaste. It goes well with meat dishes, Hatcho miso, Chinese cuisine, and other rich-flavored dishes. The 2020 VTG won a gold medal at the Sakura Awards.
Technical information
Cultivation and brewing: Harvested from September to early October as usual, fermented in stainless steel tanks for 6-9 days, pressed, and returned to stainless steel tanks to complete fermentation (as the wine is not mixed with the skins until the end, the flavor is mild).
It is then aged for approximately six months in tanks made from French and American barrel wood.
