The history of the Maggio family began in 1906 when Angelo Maggio moved from Genoa, Italy to Lodi, California with his wife Louisa. His son Louis and grandson Rudy also participated in the winery management, and began supplying grapes to wineries around the country, and now, after five generations, it has become a family-run winery that represents Lodi.
