The barley used is a native species called heirloom from around the world, and the beer is brewed slowly and carefully so that the "terroir" of the ingredients can be felt in the finished beer. Lager brewing, traditional fireworks making, and wine brewing have something in common. That is, enjoying the ephemeral beauty along with the rhythm of nature. By tasting Hanabi Lager, you can feel the complex flavors created by the raw materials barley, hops, yeast, and water, and the belief in brewing the highest quality beer. Nick is a qualified fireworks maker and is also in charge of the composition and direction of the fireworks display at Lopez Island, Washington, which is said to be the largest in North America. The numbers on the label and product name are the fireworks diagram and product number published in the illustrated fireworks catalog for export by Hirayama Fireworks Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Yokohama) in the 1880s. This beer is made with local California-grown Feldbloom barley, which is brewed at Admiral Malvinas Brewery in Alameda, California.

It is germinated by our friendly partner, Tings, using the traditional "floor malting" method. The germinated barley seeds are dried and then mixed together.

The malt is dried, lightly toasted in the company's kilns, and processed to create a fragrant malt. Hanabi Lager Company is a small-batch craft lager beer brand made using traditional brewing methods from the Bavarian Alps region of Germany, said to be the birthplace of lager beer. It is a private project by Nick Gislason, who is the brewer behind Screaming Eagle, one of the most difficult beers to obtain in California, and is a new type of boutique brewery made from the perspective of a winemaker.

The barley they use is a native variety called heirloom from all over the world, and they brew it slowly and painstakingly so that the finished beer can capture the "terroir" of the ingredients.

Nick is a licensed pyrotechnician and is the creator and production director of the Lopez Island Fireworks Display in Washington, the largest in North America.

Lager brewing, traditional fireworks making, and wine brewing all have something in common: they all enjoy the ephemeral beauty of nature in harmony with its rhythm. When you taste Hanabi Lager, you can experience the complex flavors of the ingredients, barley, hops, yeast, and water, as well as our commitment to brewing the highest quality beer.

The beers are made using seasonal barley and are released four to five times a year.
