Since 1980, the Hahn family has been growing grapes on their vineyards in the hills of Monterey County.

The wines we offer today are rich, full-bodied and reflect the Hahn family's commitment to quality and style for everyday enjoyment.

This crisp and refreshing Pinot Gris offers aromas of pear, green apple and subtle hints of lemon blossom.

When you put it in your mouth, the flavors of fresh tropical fruits and pear spread, and the crisp acidity tightens the finish.

This Pinot Gris is made from grapes grown in Monterey County, influenced by the cold currents of the Pacific Ocean, which allow the grapes to grow slowly in a cool environment and have a long hang time, resulting in flavor-packed grapes.

These conditions contribute to the vibrant flavors and refreshing acidity that are characteristic of this variety.

After harvest, the grapes are pressed and the juice is fermented exclusively in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.

Fermentation at low temperatures helps to preserve the floral notes and delicate aromas of peach and apricot that are characteristic of this variety, leading to a lively, fresh finish.

The winery was founded in the 1970s by German-Swiss immigrants Nicky and Gabie Hahn.

Initially, they planted Cabernet vines and began making wine, but due to the characteristics of this region, which is influenced by the cold currents of the Pacific Ocean and the deep, cold waters of Monterey Bay, they changed plantings to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the 1980s, which thrive in cooler environments.

In 1988, Nicky, convinced of the region's potential, began working to have Santa Lucia Highlands (SLH) designated as an AVA, and it was finally granted in 1995.

Today, the Santa Lucia Highlands is widely known as a renowned wine region, particularly for its Pinot Noir.

Today, the Hahn family owns six vineyards in Monterey County, four vineyards totaling 260 hectares in SLH, and two vineyards totaling 184 hectares in the Arroyo Seco AVA to the south, totaling 444 hectares.

Of this, 140 hectares are planted to Pinot Noir, accounting for 12% of SLH's entire Pinot Noir vineyards, making it the winery with the largest share.

The vineyard also has the largest clonal variety in the region, currently growing 21 different Pinot Noir varieties.

The diverse soil, climate, amount of sunlight depending on the slope, and combination of clones make it possible to produce an exceptional Pinot Noir that expresses the unique terroir of each of our own vineyards.

The region enjoys a growing season that is approximately 25 days longer than other California grape-growing regions, resulting in grapes that are rich in flavor, depth and structure and produce wines with excellent concentration.
