Aged 16 months in French barrels. The Gowan Creek vineyards in Anderson Valley have two elements: a mild climate and the influence of ocean fog, which cools the air from night to morning. The wine has the typical aroma, freshness and rich flavor of Pinot Noir.
Vintage Information
The 2018 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir vintage is one of the best of the last decade.
A dry winter and cool, wet spring weather delayed bud break and flowering by several weeks, helping to avoid spring frosts.
The summer was blessed with fine weather, allowing for a sufficient growing season, and warm weather continued after harvesting began on September 12th, allowing all the grapes to be harvested at their ideal ripeness and in perfect condition.
The result is a wine with beautiful aromas, natural acidity and rich texture.

Cultivation: Uses 777.5, Swan, 667, 2A clones.
Winemaking and ageing: After 3 days of cold soaking, fermentation takes place in small open-top tanks.
Punched down twice a day. Pressed in a basket press.
Aged for 16 months in French barrels. There are a wide variety of barrel makers.
Tasting Comments
A rich, dense and complex wine with layered aromas of blackberry, blueberry, ripe red plum, black tea, anise and mint.
Bright, juicy blueberry and blackberry flavors are supported by sparkling cool climate acidity, leading to a long, mouth-filling finish.

Located in an area that combines the warm elements of Anderson Valley with cool elements such as fog from the coast at the northern end of the valley. The vineyards face southwest and are well-sunlit, and the most suitable clones are grown in each plot.
