COMMENT
The Roche family has been cultivating grapes in Cairanne in the Côtes du Rhône since the early 17th century. They began bottling their own wine at the Domaine in 2009. They make wine with both the modernity of a young Domaine and respect for experience and tradition.
WINEMAKING
The wine is made from Grenache from the same plot as the 120-year-old Carignan vines, which were planted immediately after the phylloxera attack. The yield is very low at 25-30hl/ha. The grapes are hand-picked and then destemmed. The two varieties are blended together. Fermentation takes place at 25-27°C for about 30 days. The wine is then aged in concrete tanks for 12 months.
