Aged 12 months in barrels (25% new barrels) Domaine Mia is one of the largest estates in the Côte Chalonnaise with a history dating back to 1860.

The Ecocert (organic farming) certified vineyards produce wines with incredible potential that fully showcase the splendor of Southern Burgundy.

“Winemaking is an art that combines many talents,” says Mia Subotic, owner of the domaine.

Domaine Mia's wines are a perfect combination of Mia's vision, the grape cultivation of winemaker Alain Charles, and the precision work of many talented members of the team.

At the heart of this is David Duban, a winemaking expert who oversees the winemaking department with his outstanding skills.

David Duban is considered one of the finest winemakers in Burgundy today.

His expertise has enabled Domaine Mia's wines to evolve exponentially, making it one of the most notable domaines in the region.

While he values terroir, tradition and respect for the environment above all else, he also does not shy away from experimentation.

The first thing he noticed was a return to the "whole-cluster fermentation" method that was common in the past, in an attempt to create a wine that was light and harmonious like silk or air.

The other is the effort to add very small amounts of sulfite to wine in order to bring out the natural aroma of the fruit.

These were successful thanks to the exceptional quality of the grapes harvested.

This is the result of respecting nature according to organic farming principles and caring for the vines throughout the year using biodynamic methods.

The wines are then vinified in our own underground cellars in Nuits-Saint-Georges and aged in carefully selected French oak barrels.

David Duban talks about winemaking at Domaine Mia:

"Vinifying from a terroir other than the Côte de Nuits was a real challenge for me and applying my winemaking methods to a different appellation was a great motivator.

We used feet to perform punch down to gently extract the wine, resulting in the finish we envisioned, with the original complexity, finesse and minerality of the harvested grapes.

Finally, we pledge, on behalf of the Domaine Mia, to continue to produce wines of excellent quality with respect for the vines.

Please try the new "Domaine Mia", which David Duban creates with the same philosophy as his own domaine.
