Meillet-Fonne is a domaine located in the village of Katzenthal in the Haut-Rhin department, approximately 7 km northwest of Colmar.

The Meyer family immigrated to this area from Switzerland in 1732, and the Domaine was founded when Felix Meyer, born in 1877, established a winegrowing farm.

The estate initially sold grapes to a cooperative, but began bottling its own grapes in the 1960s when the current owner's father, François, joined the estate.

The current head of the family is Felix Meillet, the fifth generation and bears the same name as the founder.

The Domaine underwent rapid growth after Félix took over in 1992.

Felix obtained his BTS (Higher Technician Certificate) from the winemaking school in Mâconnais, and after graduating he trained under renowned top producers such as Zind Umbrecht, Domaine Dujac, and Comte Lafon, establishing his own wine philosophy.

The wines Felix produces are in a style that combines liquid purity with lightness and strength, while respecting the individuality of the grape varieties.

Our philosophy is to create wines that can be enjoyed soon after bottling, but that also develop complexity and depth with age.

In addition, to give the wine complexity and potential and express the terroir, the wine is aged on the lees, which is very rare in Alsace.

All our wines are made using natural yeasts and are slowly pressed using a balloon press.

The vineyards cover approximately 18.8 hectares, including six Grand Cru vineyards, and are located in Katzenthal, where the Domaine's headquarters is located. The Domaine is also home to Meyer-Fonne's pride and joy, the Grand Cru "Winegg Schlossberg", as well as "Schoenenbourg", which is considered the finest cuvée by top Domaines such as Marcel Deiss, Botté Geyler, and Trapet.

He has currently been awarded two stars at Meilleur Vins de France and has been praised by wine magazines as a "young, promising new star," making him the most notable young winemaker in Alsace.
