A 3ha plot within the company's own vineyards. The vineyard was named after the day the vines were planted, "Bloom's Day, June 16th (2007)". The thin topsoil is clayey and rich in iron, and underneath that is shale. It has good drainage and provides an outstanding minerality. The climate is very cool due to the influence of fog and cold winds from the sea, and this stress results in the smallest bunches of grapes in the company's own vineyards. The color, aroma and fruitiness are all richly concentrated, and a taut minerality and acidity coexist. 100% whole-cluster fermentation, aged for approximately 10 months (30% new oak).
Vintage Information
The vintage was cool throughout the year, resulting in more herbal and distinctly salty flavors, but the fruit is very fresh and lively, with plenty of concentration and tension.
It has a rich flavor and the terroir's characteristics are clearly expressed, so it can be enjoyed now and can easily be aged for 10 to 15 years.
Technical information
Vinification: Natural, slow fermentation using natural yeasts.
Whole bunches (100%) of grapes are placed into open concrete/stainless steel fermentation tanks and a slow punchdown is performed.
Aged for 10 months in French barrels (30% new), unfiltered and bottled without artificial fining.

Tasting Comments
Bloom's Field always displays the same unique character every year.
This is due to the influence of the cool sea breezes that blow day and night and the stress of the poor, mineral-rich soil, which results in small, clumpy grains that express lively, concentrated fruitiness, saltiness, and a seaweed-like minerality.
The grapes grown in the iron-rich clay soil at the top of the vineyard and the minerality of the marine soil at the bottom create a complex flavor.
The 2021 vintage has an appealing, refreshing and fragrant aroma of pure, juicy, ripe black cherries and blackberries, plums, brown sugar, dark chocolate, cinnamon, earthy spices, fresh green leaves and black tea.
The thick, rich tannins are like a tightly woven knit, so it makes a strong impact on the first sip now, but it's fun to watch as the dense, velvety texture becomes more supple over time.
Field Information
Bloom's Field
Area: 3ha, organic cultivation
The field was named after Blooms Day, June 16th (2007), which was the day the trees were planted.
It is located on the westernmost slope of our own vineyards and offers a direct view of the sea (about 10 km west).
The thin topsoil is clayey and rich in iron, and underneath that is shale.
It has good drainage and provides outstanding minerality.
The fog and cold winds from the sea caused it to be very cool, and this stress resulted in the grapes growing in the smallest bunches of any of our own vineyards.
The color, aroma, and fruitiness are all concentrated, but the wine retains high acidity, making it full of lively energy.
The clones, Mount Eden, Swan and Karela, are planted alternately in each row instead of in separate plots as is usually the case, and are harvested together.
