Deep red-purple with a slightly black tone. Complex aromas of black fruits, spices, graphite, blueberries, and Andean wild jalila and thyme. Elegant taste with smooth tannins and a long finish. 2018 was a year of excellent weather conditions throughout the growing season. Temperatures were average, rainfall was minimal, and the temperature difference was greater than in recent years, making it a typical Mendoza growing season. The vineyards were healthy, so the color and concentration of the grapes at harvest were excellent. Harvesting began on February 16th with Chardonnay from Los Arboles in Tunuyan and ended on April 20th with Cabernet Sauvignon from El Peral in Tupungato. This wine has been highly acclaimed as the pinnacle of Argentine Malbec since its first release in the 1999 vintage. Made from Malbec vines that are over 80 years old and are rooted in their own roots, this wine is said to be the black jewel of Argentina. This single-vineyard wine is bottled in its entirety, capturing the splendor of the grapes from the Marchioli Vineyard. From the first vintage in 2002 to the present, it has attracted attention from critics and collectors around the world as a representative of high-quality Argentine wine. Critic James Suckling gave the 2011 Viña Cobos single-vineyard Malbec "2011 Cobos" a perfect score of 100 points, the first Argentine wine to receive such a rating.
