A bold, juicy, supple and powerful Petite Sirah and Zinfandel red blend.
The Petite Sirah comes from grapes grown at high altitudes in the Sierra Foothills, the oldest wine-growing region in California, and the Zinfandel comes from grapes grown in Lodi, where the vines are about 40 years old.
In the glass, the aromas of blueberry, boysenberry, and black plum are apparent. On the palate, the Petite Sirah and Zinfandel blend reveals fresh, rich flavors of black cherry, cedar, and sweet tobacco.
"What kind of wine would be as amazing as Jordan's Slam Dunk?" This wine was born from a question that suddenly crossed the mind of David and Meilhan, the creators of this wine.
One day, the two were glued to the hit documentary "The Last Dance" on an American sports channel. The series, which documented the dramatic championship run of Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls from 1997 to 1998, was a tribute to one of the greatest athletes in history, Jordan, at the top of his game and his inimitable dunking moves. His slam dunks combined agility, grace and power to electrify the audience.
A wine that gives you the same feeling as the moments in your daily life when you think "I got it!". A wine that reminds you of the moment you won a game, closed a big deal and wowed your boss, or made your own slam dunk in life - a wine that is perfectly blended, easy to drink, and simply delicious! And it's affordable and everyone will agree. That's the kind of wine they aimed to create.
Vintner David approached contract farmers throughout California, negotiating with farms in the Central Valley and the Sierra Foothills, and succeeded in sharing high-quality grapes at a family price on the condition that his name would not be revealed. Mayan Kostisky, who co-founded Royal Prince & Spirits, was in charge of brewing and created "Slam Dunk" to the world.
