The Lurton family, where Pierre was born, is one of the most prestigious families in Bordeaux. Its history began in 1897 when the family established Château Bonnet in Claysillac, about 20km south of Saint-Emilion. Later, Château Marjosse was also established in the same Claysillac. Claysillac is the birthplace of the Lurton family, where they started their wine business. The hilly region of Cresillac is covered with bedrock that continues from Saint-Emilion, and the soil is very similar to that of the south side of Saint-Emilion. Pierre, who knows this region very well, selected five parcels that are particularly good for grape growing and produces the wine "Pierre Lurton" that bears his name. The field is about 40 hectares in size. The soil is a mixture of clay and pebbles. The average age of the grape vines is about 20 years. Currently, three people, cellar master Stephane Guyony, cultivation manager Pierre Dupas, and winemaker Pascal Bousevin, are working with Pierre Lurton to make wine. The label features a door knocker, a symbol of Bordeaux, that was designed on the door of Pierre Lurton's birthplace, the chateau. The design is meant to convey the meaning of "becoming the door to a new Bordeaux" and the nostalgia for his hometown, Bordeaux. With a passion for great wine and respect for the terroir, Pierre has created this wine with confidence, bearing his own name, as a wine that will open the door to a new Bordeaux.
