This Pinot Noir is made from 100% grapes grown in our own vineyards in the Arroyo Secco AVA. It has the fresh fruitiness and beautiful structure that are characteristic of Arroyo Secco.

In the Monterey AVA, the temperature difference between day and night can reach 50 degrees, producing grapes with lively and luscious flavors. Montoya Pinot Noir grapes are grown at Wiley Ranch and Suter Vineyards, CSWA-certified sustainable vineyards in the Arroyo Seco AVA in Monterey. Montoya maintains quality control from planting to harvesting in-house. Grapes from these vineyards are known for their rich acidity, firm structure, and ripe berry flavors.

Harvested at night when temperatures are low, the grapes are destemmed in the field to preserve the fruit aromas as much as possible. After a 48-hour cold soak, the grapes are fermented. Aged for 10 months in lightly charred French oak barrels.

Aromas of ripe red berries and cherries. The tannins are soft and velvety.

Pasta primavera, mushroom risotto, savory crepes.
