COMMENT
Louis Vialard is one of Bordeaux's leading wine merchants. The company, which also owns the Cru Bourgeois Chateau Cissac, has been delivering high-end wines, including Bordeaux classified chateaux, to countries around the world since its founding in 1969. Its headquarters are located in the center of the village of Pauillac, on the banks of the Gironde River, and are housed in a mansion built in 1880 called "Villa Estuaire" (Mansion at the Estuary), which was renovated in 2020.
The cuvée "Villa Estuaire", named after this historic building, is a special wine released in very limited quantities (11,000 bottles per year) as a tribute to the founder, Louis Vialard. The 1.4ha vineyard in the village of Pauillac is located on a southeast-facing hill facing the river mouth. The soil contains clay and gravel, resulting in a wine with supple tannins and a spicy structure, typical of AOC Pauillac.
In addition, the winery has inherited the spirit of "sustainable" winemaking that its founder aimed for from the beginning, and has obtained HVE3 (High Environmental Value level 3) certification.
WINEMAKING
The vineyards are located on a southeast-facing vineyard with gravelly clay soils facing the Gironde River. The grapes are hand-picked, fermented with natural yeasts, then malolactic fermented. Aged in French oak barrels.
