The wine is made mainly from To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville (both Beckstoffer and Mondavi plots) and is a blend of several excellent vineyards in Oakville. Aged for 19 months in French barrels (54% new barrels). The wine is dominated by blue-black berries, with aromas of nutmeg, spearmint, and spices, a smooth mouthfeel, and silky tannins that fill the mouth. The rich, full-bodied flavor is dominated by berry fruits, with a complex intertwining of leather, crushed rocks, and cigars. The 2021 Double Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon is an outstanding wine that builds on the highly acclaimed 2019 vintage.
The wine is remarkable for its complex and seductive flavours which are delicately interwoven, perfectly balanced with exotic spice notes and refined tannin texture.
In the glass it displays an intense purple-ruby hue, and on the nose it reveals waves of aromas reminiscent of bramboise, nutmeg, toasty cedar, rich plum and pennyroyal mint.
The smooth taste spreads across your mouth with flavors of blackberry compote, shaved dark chocolate, black currant, oolong tea, flint and lavender, and the dynamic flavors gradually create a vibrant harmony, leading to a long, lingering finish with a floral aroma.
