It has a bittersweet and sweet aroma. It feels fresh in your mouth.

It has a refreshing apple-like flavor. It also has a pleasant acidity. 2022 was a dry and hot vintage with little rain.

Although it rained two weeks before the harvest, we were blessed with grapes that had excellent tannins and were juicy. This is a great vintage that produced wines of a satisfactory quality. Direct pressing and alcoholic fermentation in concrete tanks.

Always macerate the whole bunch with the skins on.

Everything is vinified naturally, with no additives used in the fields or vineyards.

20-30mg/L of sulfur dioxide is added at bottling. Domaine Milan is located in the small town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Known as the leading natural wine maker in the area, it is run by the third generation husband and wife team, Theo and Nathalie Milan.

The vineyards are located in the Les Baux Conservation Park at the foot of the Alpilles mountain range, and enjoy a unique terroir. Since 2002, they have been practicing biodynamic and permaculture methods, using both human and horse farming techniques. When Henri Milan first planted vines at the age of eight, he knew from that time that viticulture would become his lifelong passion. In 1986, he took over his family's estate at the foot of the Alpilles mountain range in Provence. There, he had the ambition to cultivate grapes of high quality and character, which the different soils allowed, and to bottle the wines himself, rather than selling them to a local cooperative like his parents had done.

He started organic vineyards in 1988, but many of the vines were not strong enough to withstand the change from conventional farming. So he worked with the famous microbiologist Claude Bourguignon to create a soil map to guide how to replant them. They found areas of blue marl mixed with limestone, and distinctive areas of gravel and yellow sandstone. They were convinced that the way forward was to choose the grape varieties best suited to each soil type and create wines unique to that area.

However, the best varieties did not always meet the regulations of the Baux-de-Provence, so in 2007 they removed the appellation and placed their wines in the VindeFrance category. Like most of Provence, the area around Domaine Milan is influenced by a warm Mediterranean climate and the strong, cold, dry north wind called the Mistral, which protects it from pests and fungal diseases. Its location right next to the Alpilles mountain range protects the vineyards from the elements and benefits from unique and distinctive soils. The Milan couple practice biodynamics, plowing the fields with horses and using only natural yeasts for fermentation. Before SO2-free cuvées became widespread, they bottled the first SO2-free cuvée in 2000. Milan avoids filtration and excessive extraction. 2022 was a dry, hot vintage with little rain. Although it rained two weeks before the harvest, they were blessed with excellent tannins and juicy grapes. A very satisfying vintage. No filtration, all fermentation in concrete tanks, always whole bunches skin-macerated. All vinification is natural, no additives in the vineyard or vineyard. 20-30mg/L of sulfur dioxide is added at bottling. It is important to make a wine that is smooth and easy to drink, and the result is a charming southern French finish with juicy and pleasant tannins.
