60hl/ha. Calcareous clay soil. Planting density 8,000 vines/ha. Direct pressing, first racking, fermentation at 12-14°C for 1 month. After the second racking, fermentation until completion. Malolactic fermentation. Aging for 3-4 months. Production volume 5,500 bottles. The Domaine is led by Gilles Juran, who holds important positions in the Beaujolais Crus Association and the Beaujolais Wine Committee, and his wife Magali. The Domaine's name comes from the plot of land, Clos des Nugues, purchased by the previous owner, Gerard, in 1976. The average age of the vines is now 45 years, and the planting area is 35.3 hectares. Some of the vines are over 100 years old. In 2018, the Domaine was also certified HVE (Highly Environmentally Friendly). In order to improve the environment of the vines and the soil, they practice cultivation that minimizes the use of pesticides. A limited number of Gilles' top cuvées, which are only produced in good years, are also available. These wines have the potential to age and are sometimes of such high quality that they are reminiscent of Pinot Noir from famous appellations!
