<Brewing/Technical Facts>
Established in 1986. Originally a grape farm. This 5.5ha vineyard spreads across the terraces of Martinborough in the North Island of New Zealand. It started its history by planting Pinot Noir and Syrah in an area close to the city, but it is also well known as the first farm in Martinborough to try organic farming. The vineyard was originally known as Fraser Block, but it has just started anew as a winery, driven by the passion to express the high-quality grapes as their craft in wine. Winemaker Lance Ledgewell manages not only the winery but also everything, including the vineyards. His biodynamic practices and simple brewing that eliminates artificial approaches as much as possible are still considered eccentric in New Zealand, but he works hard every day with a non-committal attitude.
