COMMENT
Bilikino was founded in 2008 by Alex Kraus and John Locke in Santa Cruz, California.
Birichino means "naughty" in Italian, and their motto is "to make wines that combine great aroma, balance and a good kind of whimsy."
We aim to make natural wines with as little artificial intervention as possible, and above all, we aim to make wines that will invigorate and delight those who drink them.
WINEMAKING
The base is made from Carignan from an old vineyard in the plains near Lodi, close to the Cinsault vineyard (Betchhold Vineyard) used for Vin Gris. It is supplemented with Grenache and Mourvedre, which Birichino has been using for some time. Both vines are about 100 years old.
Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in wooden barrels.
