Rich fruit and fragrant minerals. Overall fresh and firm.
The wine is made from grapes from French Camp Vineyard in Paso Robles, which is certified organic and sustainable.
Fermented in stainless steel tanks, no malolactic fermentation.
Aromas of apricot, citrus and a hint of honey. The lively flavors of grapefruit, melon, apricot and tropical fruits tickle the tongue, and the clear minerality that lingers until the finish is impressive.
It pairs well with sushi, garlic shrimp and white fish dishes, as well as charcuterie and salty cheeses.
The town of Ballard was named after William Ballard, who operated the Wells Fargo station from 1862 to 1870. Ballard is a junction between rural and seaside communities, and although it is the oldest community in the Santa Ynez Valley on the Central Coast, it has not developed like its neighbor, Santa Barbara, and looks much the same today as it did 100 years ago. It was featured in the movie "Sideways," which introduced California Pinot Noir to the world, and features a landscape of vineyards, coastal cliffs, and ranches that eventually lead to what locals call "The Lane."
Made by the Miller family, who have been grape growers on the Central Coast for five generations, Ballard Lane wines reflect their intimate knowledge of the land, climate and terroir.
