This wine was made without barrel aging to express the individuality of the Chardonnay itself. This Chardonnay, brewed only in stainless steel tanks, has lively aromas of pineapple, melon, and Meyer lemon. It also has a creamy and smooth aftertaste from sur lie aging. The fresh and crisp finish goes well with a variety of meals, such as appetizers, seafood, grilled vegetables, and spicy Mexican and Indian cuisine. The grapes are grown in the Clarksburg AVA, which has been attracting attention in recent years, located in the Sacramento Delta, and in the vineyards of California's famous Chardonnay-producing regions, which have abundant sunshine. With the perfect land for cultivation, the "Golden State" has become the mecca of American wine, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world's great wine-producing regions. California has over 100 AVA (Agricultural Viticultural Areas) covering 500,000 acres (200,000 hectares) where a wide variety of grape varieties are grown. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are grown in the cool, foggy coastal regions, while the warmer inland areas provide the perfect environment for Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc. The Smoking Loon has a unique label featuring a waterfowl smoking a cigarette. These wines were born from Don Sebastiani & Sons' policy that good wine should be enjoyed casually. The Sebastiani family's favorite wines were created by combining Don Sebastiani's favorite cigars and his father August's beloved waterfowl. They search for high-quality grapes in the appropriate growing areas for each variety, and create value wines that fully express the individuality of the variety at a reasonable price.
