Founded in 1920, the company owns 18 hectares of vineyards in the Chablis AOC and Premier Cru.

Jean-Pierre Grosso began making wine under his father in 1970. He began making wine himself in 1979, and that year was the first vintage he released under his name. He learned a lot about cultivation, brewing, and wine culture from his grandfather and father, and at the same time inherited his passion for winemaking. In 1980, he began selling wine under the Domaine name. His daughter Yves took over the Domaine in 2022 and changed the company name to Famille Grosso. The grapes are entirely from his own vineyards. At the same time, the label design was vividly revamped. In recent years, the winery has been working on using only natural yeasts, lengthening the brewing process, and minimizing the amount of sulfurous acid added.

Grape cultivation is a traditional and natural approach that involves the use of organic fertilizers and minimal use of pesticides.

Most of the grapes are hand-picked and sorted. Healthy fruit is gently pressed with an air press and fermented. Fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks allows the terroir to be expressed more faithfully.

This Chablis brand was a favorite of the late Jean-Claude Vrinas, the legendary owner of the famous Parisian winery Taillevent, and is still used at Taillevent today.
