Aged for 16 months in French and American barrels (33% new barrels). In order to keep the price down and maintain the quality, the grape sourcing has been expanded to Sonoma and Mendocino since 2018. 20% from Napa, 67% from Sonoma (Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, etc.), 13% from Mendocino (Yorkville Highlands). The result is a beautiful Cabernet with the richness, balance and elegance that Starmont aims for. Complex aromas of blackberry, cassis, raspberry and dark chocolate spread, with fresh acidity, refined tannins and a long finish with accents of cedar.
In order to keep prices low while maintaining excellent quality, we have expanded our grape sourcing sources since 2018.
The 2019 vintage is a blend of wines from four different counties (76% Lake, 11% Napa, 3% Sonoma, and 10% Yolo).
The result is a beautiful Cabernet that exudes the richness, balance and elegance that Starmont strives for.
