Tasting Comments
A full-bodied wine with fruity flavours and good structure.
This style is a California Bordeaux blend style pioneered by Walter Schug at Joseph Phelps in the 1970s.
It has a wonderful bouquet of berries, blackcurrants and spices, with flavours of ripe blackcurrant, cherry and chocolate.
Small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot add depth and elegance to the wine.
Pleasant tannins and a spicy oak finish.
A great accompaniment to hearty stews, wild mushrooms and grilled meats.
This wine is delicious to drink now but can also be enjoyed with 5 to 7 years of aging.
