Silky texture, petal and red fruit aromas, cherry and cranberry flavors, clean acidity, and a long aftertaste. 2017 VTG Sakura Award Silver Winner
Vintage Information
The 2021 vintage was blessed with a wonderful growing season with no frost and very mild temperatures. Apart from some spring rains in March, Sonoma County experienced some of the driest conditions on record, which led to the expectation of an early harvest, but in fact it took place between September 8th and 28th, waiting for all conditions to come into balance.
Tasting Comments
Aromas of plum, brown sugar, spices, tobacco and baked goods. Warm and rich flavors of baked cherry pie and plums spread out, with soft tannins.
This vintage has a unique earthiness and complexity that makes it a perfect match for charcuterie, mushroom risotto, and grilled pork tenderloin with cherry compote and mustard sauce.
