Tasting Comments

2019 was a perfect year, not too hot and able to retain beautiful acidity, which could be called the Gramercy Year.

The Les Collines vineyard is grown in Block 46, which has a steep slope, and the wine has a lively acidity. The sweet and sour flavors of raspberry and cherry come first, but aromas of Asian spices, tobacco, black pepper and vanilla also emerge, with hints of meat, blood and animalistic notes.

The overall flavor is reminiscent of an endless array of aromas, including salt, iron, green olives, orange peel oil, purple flower - mountain laurel, pepperoni and salami, green herbs (sage, thyme), light smoky nuances, black pepper, Middle Eastern spices, and red and black berries.

Solid acidity, firm but medium level tannins, and excellent balance.

Richer and more abundant than usual.

A wonderful combination of depth, intensity and complexity, elegant yet powerful, with a long finish that lingers throughout the mouth.

An incredible wine that will age well.

"Every year, in order to produce the best Syrah, we blind-blend and select the cuvées from each vineyard and each block of Syrah. From 2017 to this year, we have continued to select Les Collines Block 46. This is undoubtedly a plot worthy of Grand Cru status. Gramercy's finesse and balance make this wine its best." - Greg Harrington
