American barrels (40% new barrels) + Hungarian barrels (5% new barrels). Perissa Vineyard is located just behind the winery in Oakville, and has been cultivating high-quality Zinfandel for many years, which has become difficult to obtain in Napa. It is proudly released as a single vineyard. It has a lively taste with aromas of black fruits, vanilla, black pepper, and violets. The nuances of the barrels also add an accent, and the velvety texture and balance that is not too overripe are attractive.

They cultivated high-quality Zinfandel grapes, which are difficult to obtain in Napa, with many years of experience and pride, and made wine with the pride of a prestigious family that has been with Napa for a long time. Perissa Vineyard was purchased in 1993. Of the 22 hectares of the vineyard, 4.5 hectares are planted with Zinfandel bushes, dry farmed, and certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF). The vineyard name comes from the name of the founder, Andrew Perissa. Formerly known as "BV 7" and one of the Cabernet vineyards used for Beaulieu Vineyard's Georges de Latour. The fruit produced from these vines is small to medium in size and characterized by deep color extraction. Currently, this is the only wine in Oakville AVA that can be called Estate Zinfandel. The vines are 25 years old.

Tasting Comments

It has a deep, vibrant ruby color and aromas of black fruits, cedar, cardamom and other spices.

On the palate, it offers flavors of black cherry, dried apricot, and raspberry, with mellow, firm tannins, making it surprisingly well-balanced and elegant.

There is a refreshing aftertaste.

It's delicious when it's freshly released, but you'll be amazed at how the flavor expands even more when aged.
