Decoy's premium cuvée "Decoy Limited". A blend of grapes from Green Valley, Russian River Valley, and Petaluma Gap. Aged 10 months in French barrels (40% new barrels). Lively aromas of red cherries and raspberries with fragrant spices and forest undergrowth. Silky and smooth tannins and the elegant toasted aroma of French barrels accentuate the fresh taste, with an elegant red berry and spice finish.

Decoy's premium cuvée "Decoy Limited" to be released by VTG in 2018

Decoy was launched in 1985 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn as the second wine of Duckhorn Vineyards.

The company then expanded its own vineyards in Sonoma, and Decoy's grape suppliers shifted to Sonoma's finest vineyards, and today it also includes suppliers from cool, high-quality coastal areas, from Anderson Valley to Monterey.

Decoy's unchanging policy is "Reputation for delivering great quality at a remarkable price."

Finally, they have released the premium cuvée Decoy Limited following the same policy.

Vintage Information

The 2022 Sonoma Coast growing season was short and busy, but produced wines with refined tannins, rich fruit flavors, and vibrant natural acidity. Thanks to warm summer weather, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir began harvesting from vineyards that reached ideal ripeness in mid-August. A heatwave in early September helped the remaining vineyards reach their final maturity, and harvesting ended in mid-September. Overall, the quality was excellent, with the Chardonnay exhibiting beautiful citrus and tropical aromas and a rich, concentrated flavor, while the Pinot Noir is well-expressed with supple, refined tannins and plush dark berry flavors.

Tasting Comments

An elegant Pinot Noir with an enchanting aroma of blackberries, cranberries, cedar, damp forest undergrowth, and spices from the barrel. In the mouth, the enchanting flavor of red berries is wrapped in supple tannins, and the bright acidity brings freshness to the long, lively finish.
