They use grapes from old vines in unique and wonderful fields all over California. When harvesting, they pay particular attention to choosing the exact timing of ripeness. They avoid overripe grapes. They ferment with natural yeast and age in barrels (about 15% new French barrels), not to add a barrel aroma, but to make the wine mellow. They use grapes of top quality, don't tinker with the brewing method, and make wine with the hope of creating a reasonably priced wine.
"A delicious and enjoyable wine without all the complicated details!"
"Shebang!" is American slang for "Whole Shebang! = Everything Available!"
The grapes and wine available are amazing!
It's a fine blend of the wines he makes as Bedrock and the grapes he sources specially.
A great balance of taste and price! Enjoy your drink!
The 16th cuvée is made primarily from grapes from old vines in Sonoma, with plenty of character. The other cuvées are made in Bedrock, with barrels selected to suit Shebang!
Not a second wine, but tuned for Shebang!
What is particularly important when harvesting is to determine the exact moment when the grapes are ripe and the sugar content is at the correct level (avoiding overripe grapes).
Robert Parker once rated the 7th Cuvee as one of the top three wines with the best cost performance.
Technical information
It is brewed in much the same way as Bedrock's red wine, and in the same location as Bedrock.
Fermented with natural yeast, with a focus on drinkability, it is a blend of 85% aged in stainless steel tanks and 15% aged in French barrels (not to impart a barrel aroma, but to give the flavor a mellower flavor).
Morgan's tasting notes
This wine is made using grapes of the highest quality, without any tinkering with the brewing method, no marketing makeup, and no corporate profit or trickery.
We make our wines with the hope that they will be reasonably priced.
Shebang Red is full of rich fruitiness from the abundant California sunshine, but also has a strong acidity and is firm and never dull. Each grape shows off its individuality while the wine is well-balanced, making it a wine that can be enjoyed with a meal, allowing the original flavor of the grapes to naturally emerge.
Morgan's recommended pairings are perfect for outdoor summer barbecues or parties with roast chicken, roast beef, grilled vegetables, and cheese.
