Although the label states that this wine is from the Russian River Valley AVA, this grape is actually 100% from the vineyards of Joe and Tom Rochioli, known as some of Sonoma's most famous wine growers. This wine was started by a collaboration between Emmanuel Kemiji, a master sommelier (one of only 150 people in the world) and a famous sommelier at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco, and Byron Kosugi, who gained fame as a winemaker at Saints Berry, a master of California Pinot Noir. They make single-vineyard Pinot from grapes from a famous vineyard that could be considered a special vineyard in California. "Miura" comes from the name of a bull trainer in Spain, where Emmanuel lived as a child. The bottle features a depiction of a brave fighting bull.
