Fratelli Serio e Battista Borgogno is a prestigious company that has been growing grapes and making wine in the Barolo hills since the end of the 19th century. They own about 4ha of vineyards, mainly in Cannubi. It was established in 1897 by founder Francesco Borgogno. He was an indispensable person in this area, having served as the mayor of Barolo for 30 years. He loved this area and its people so much that he established the first kindergarten in Barolo. It was later handed over to Francesco's nephew Lodovigo, and his sons Serio and Battista. The two of them contributed greatly to the development of Barolo and the cantina, so their names are the name of the cantina. Currently, the cantina is run by their daughter Anna, her husband Marco, who manages everything from the fields to the brewing, Anna's sister Paola, and Anna's two daughters Emanuela and Federica. They continue to innovate while firmly protecting the unchanging passion and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. They stick to the traditional brewing method of fermenting in 50hl wooden barrels called Tini and aging in large oak barrels. They do not use barriques at all. They aim to continue to make high-quality, classically styled wines while firmly protecting their own character.
