Right bank of the Seran River, north of Grand Cru. 0.6ha. Two plots facing west. Clay limestone marl soil. Planted in 1988 and 1996. Healthy fruit is gently pressed and fermented with an air press. Fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks allow the terroir to be expressed more faithfully. Founded by his grandfather in 1920. His parents and Jean-Pierre expanded little by little, and now own 18ha of vineyards in Chablis AOC and Premier Cru. Jean-Pierre Grosso began making wine with his father in 1970. He has been making wine alone since 1979, and that was the first vintage he sold wine under his name. He learned a lot about cultivation, harvesting, brewing and wine culture from his grandfather and father, and at the same time inherited his passion for winemaking, and has been selling wine under the current Domaine name label since 1980. His daughter Eva is now also involved with the Domaine. Grape cultivation is carried out in a traditional and natural manner, with organic fertilizers and minimal use of pesticides. Most of the grapes are harvested by hand, with careful selection. Healthy grapes are gently pressed with an air press and fermented. Fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks allows the terroir to be more faithfully expressed. This Chablis brand was a favorite of the late Jean-Claude Vrinat, the legendary owner of Taillevent, a famous winery in Paris, and is still used at Taillevent today.
