J. Davies is a red wine brand from Schramsberg's own vineyards that has been praised for its high-quality sparkling wines. It has aromas of dark cherry, black plum, tobacco, and white pepper. On the palate, you can taste black currant and blueberry, along with cinnamon, clove, and coriander. The fine tannins and deep flavor lead to a long finish. Davies Vineyards is a red wine brand developed by Schramsberg Vineyards, a sparkling wine brand in Napa Valley. This wine is made exclusively from grapes from Schramsberg's own vineyards, which surround the Schramsberg winery in the Diamond Mountain District AVA. When Schramsberg was founded in 1965, this vineyard was originally set up to produce sparkling wine.

Originally planted with Ludonnay and Pinot Noir, the owners, the Davies family, decided that the climate was too warm for these Burgundy varieties and replanted them with Bordeaux varieties in 1994. The wine is named after Jack Davies, father of current owner Hugh Davies. The three estate vineyards, scattered at elevations between 150m and 300m, total approximately 17 hectares. Two of these, known as the "Schramm Plots," were the first hillside vineyards in Napa Valley cleared and planted with vines in 1862 and named after Jacob Schramm, who founded Schramsberg on this land before Prohibition. The third parcel, known colloquially as the "McEachran Plot," was cleared and planted by Colin McEachran in 1878 and later purchased by Schramsberg in 1985. These three vineyards are located in the southernmost part of the Diamond Mountain District AVA and are surrounded by conifers. They are flanked by two streams, Nash Creek to the north and Ritchie Creek to the south. The growing season is very long, producing rich and concentrated grapes. Yields are very low, about 2 tons per acre. Schramsberg, purchased by the Davies in 1965, is located in the mountains of Diamond Mountain in Napa Valley. They also purchased the first sloped vineyards in Napa around the winery at the same time, but after studying the area for many years, they replanted them in 1994 with Cabernet Sauvignon, which is more suitable for the land. The second generation Hugh Davies created this wine in honor of Jack, J. Davies. Another great wine with a sense of concentration has been born from mountain Cabernet.
