The history of the company began in 1897 when Château Bonnet was established in Claysillac, about 20km south of Saint-Emilion. Later, Château Marjosse was also established in the same town. Claysillac is the birthplace of the Lurton family, who started their wine business. The hilly area of Claysillac is covered with bedrock that continues from Saint-Emilion, and the soil is very similar to that of the south side of Saint-Emilion. Pierre Lurton, who knows this area well, selected five parcels that are particularly excellent for grape cultivation and produces the wine "Pierre Lurton" that bears his name.
