This crisp, citrusy, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc is grown in the cool climate of Napa Valley. Careful canopy management distributes sunlight to each vine, helping to concentrate the unique, ripe grape's aromas and flavors. At the beginning of the season, we remove any grape clusters that are too large or touching other grapes, allowing each cluster to ripen optimally. Katherine Hall first worked in wine on her family's vineyard in Mendocino. From that time on, she knew she wanted to create a place where fine wine, art and artistic architecture could come together. Hall Wines is the realization of that dream, a destination winery in Napa Valley where you can experience great wine in a contemporary setting. The winery site in St. Helena, which Catherine and her husband Craig Hall purchased in 2003, was previously the site of a Napa Valley cooperative winery. At the time, 40% of the wine produced in Napa Valley was produced here. Before the Prohibition era, it was known that Bergfeld Winery was located here, and it is a location with over 150 years of history in Napa Valley, known as a famous wine-producing region. After Catherine finished her duties as the U.S. ambassador to Austria in the Clinton administration, she officially started the winery as "Hall St. Helena" in July 2013. In the same year, the renovation of the barn built in 1885 that remained from the Bergfeld Winery era, the construction of a gravity-fed winery and a state-of-the-art visitor center were completed, and the winery became the first California winery to receive LEED Gold certification (an evaluation of the environmental performance of buildings and cities). The winery owns and cultivates over 150 hectares of its own vineyards, all of which are certified organic by CCOF. The winery uses cutting-edge technology and environmentally friendly cultivation techniques to create wines that reflect the soil and climate of Napa Valley. Vice President Steve LeVeck is in charge of winemaking, and his Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc are known as the "face of the winery" and express the true essence of Napa Valley to the fullest. In the past, Steve's 2013 and 2010 Hall Exzellenz Red and 2013 Rain in Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (both not imported into Japan) received 100 points from Robert Parker. Hall's theme is "CARE," an acronym for Community, Arts, Responsible Business Practices, and Entrepreneurship. In addition to the belief in producing the finest wines, the company is also committed to creating desirable organizations in society through the community and arts. The company actively engages in fundraising in collaboration with local governments, investing in local artists, and supporting the activities of entrepreneurs living in Napa Valley through the Craigand Kathryn Hall Foundation. Although the wines are made in Napa Valley, which boasts absolute stability, they are also highly trusted by employees and the community, making them a first-class family-run winery from any angle. The large rabbit displayed at the entrance to the winery, which is also depicted on the label, is a symbol of fertility and prosperity.
