Grapes are purchased from three contract growers located in the south of Valence (south of Saint-Péray) in the central Rhône. Granite soil. Fermented in stainless steel tanks. Aged for 8 months. Jean-Michel has used his own name as the domaine name since 1987, and his reputation and popularity have skyrocketed since the mid-1990s, and he is now one of the leading producers in Côte-Rôtie. He says that "grape cultivation is the most important element in wine production," and cultivates grapes in conditions as close to natural as possible, while keeping the yield (24-30hl/ha) low, selecting and brewing fully ripe and healthy grapes. From 2020, he has started a new challenge by cultivating grapes using organic methods. The new barrel ratio is 30-100% and the wine is aged for 12-24 months. The red is 100% Syrah (with some 5-10% Viognier mixed in). The white is 100% Viognier.
