"150 years ago, a group of dreamers, perfectionists and visionary winemakers arrived in Oakville, a place with the perfect combination of ingredients to grow the finest grapes.
Today, Oakville is synonymous with the best Cabernet in the world, and as a young Napa winemaker, it is my duty and honor to pursue the legacy and excellence of my predecessors.
"Expressive, the aromas of acai, freshly ground coffee beans and cocoa pop out, with a smooth core of blackcurrant and plum puree.
The palate is velvety smooth with layers of fine tobacco and vanilla that linger throughout the long finish.
If you want to enjoy it sooner, decant.
Or age it until 2040.
Our farm is called "The Ranch" and is located at the east end of Oakville Cross Roads.
Located a short walk from Dale Valle and Screaming Eagle, the soil here changes from volcanic red earth to brown gravelly loam and is extremely well-drained.
The grapes are small and have a deep concentration.
The 2020 vintage will be remembered for more than just average metrics.
Napa had a dry, warm winter, with rain and cold only beginning to appear at the end of March.
And while a mild spring has got us off to a wonderful early start, COVID-19 has meant that winemaking is carried out with extensive safety precautions.
August was one of the hottest months on record, and harvest began in mid-September, but fortunately we were not affected by the smoke from the nearby forest fires that began on September 29th.
The highest quality Napa at the best value...The Vice: A sense of sin, a bad habit - something that gives me guilty pleasure, something that's bad for me if I do it in excess but brings me happiness if I don't do it enough, something that's necessary to live a happy and productive life...wine is my Vice.
The Vice is a brand that produces small batches of high quality wines from Napa Valley.
We brew our wines from single grape varieties hand-selected from vineyards that offer the best expression of the grape variety and region.
The brand was born from passionate people, sustainable agriculture, expertise in the wine industry and an understanding of modern consumer tastes.
Owner and chief winemaker, Malek Amaroni, was born in Morocco and studied medicine before his passion turned to wine.
After a tough life in New York and a successful career in the wine industry, he pursued his winemaking dreams and released his first vintage in 2013.
He personally collects the grapes from the fields, transports them in trucks, crushes them by hand, bottles them, and designs the labels together with his wife Tori, who is also a designer.
He will also be appointed to the Napa Valley Vintners Board of Directors in 2023, becoming the youngest member of the board, and as one of Napa's most promising producers, he is committed to offering wines of outstanding quality at the most attractive value.
