The vineyards are located near Oakville/Napa Valley, and the grapes come from young vines to 15-year-old vines used for Harlan Estate, Bond, and Promontory, as well as barrels used after selection. The wine has a concentrated flavor, but is fresh and fragrant, with black berries, peppery spices, and earthy nuances. It has firm, powerful tannins, a supple mouthfeel, and a calm taste. It can be enjoyed young, but opening the bottle and decanting it a few hours beforehand will allow you to fully enjoy the wine's flavor.

The wine is a blend of young to 15-year-old vines from Harlan Estate, Bond and Promontory, with barrels from top wine selections.

Technical information

Winemaking: Wines produced at each of Domain H. William Harlan's wineries are brought together and blended.

Fermentation: wooden barrels, concrete, stainless steel tanks

Aging: Aged in French 225-liter barrels (including new barrels) = Harlan & Bond, and large Stockinger barrels = Promontory (approximately 3 years).

The final blend is bottled and released 18 months later.

Vintage Information

The 2019 vintage saw nearly 760mm of rainfall over the four months from January to April, providing ample moisture in the soil and allowing the young vines to thrive and prepare for the growing season. The weather was favorable during the flowering period, and the beginning of summer was warm and dry, allowing the vines to be well managed and focused on fruit growth. Harvesting began in mid-September and took place over a period of just over a month, with close intervals between harvests, with careful observation of the growth of the grapes in each vineyard.

Tasting Comments

The aroma of dark fruits, black tea, and herbs rises from deep within, and the mouthfeel is powdery and gentle, but the tannins are concentrated deeply and densely in the center, and its power gradually emerges after you put it in your mouth.

The aftertaste has a strong energy to it, and the details of the vibrant red-purple fruit open up beautifully.

Domain H. William Harlan's lineage is true to its nobility and grandeur, while also exuding a sense of familiarity.
