Vintage Information
2017 Vintage: Sufficient rain in winter, warm temperatures in spring, and a hot summer accelerated grape growth, with several extremely hot days recorded. These were the characteristics of 2017 in Napa Valley, but the heatwave had little effect on Sloan's vineyards at an altitude of 700m, and the grapes ripened slowly and were fortunately harvested before the wildfires. The best grapes were carefully selected and turned into wine.

Parker Point 96+Wine Advocate Jan. 2021 by Lisa Perrotti-Brown
The 2017 Sloan wines are "rich yet delicate," but also "add a complex mix of various elements." Full-bodied, rich and concentrated fruit, velvety smooth mouthfeel, with seductive spice nuances, and a long finish. The 2017 vintage features Indian spices (cardamom, cumin, etc.) and blackberry, cassis, plum, and bittersweet chocolate aromas, as well as well-ripened tannins that create a rich, fine texture. Sloan wines, which have been aged for a long time, are supple enough to enjoy even now, and expectations are high for their future evolution.
