In 2009, he decided to make Pinot Noir. Until the 2016 vintage, grapes were sourced from the Swancrone plot in Buena Tierra. From 2017, he switched to Lidl Vineyards, one of Thomas' sources. The region is home to many excellent Pinot Noir vineyards, located north of the town of Occidental. Aged for 11 months in French barrels (25% new barrels), this pure Pinot Noir is typical of Sonoma Coast, with a hint of soil. Deep, beautiful garnet color, with aromas of fennel, licorice, fig, plum, apricot, and ripe berries. The long, lingering finish invites you to take another sip.
Don and Joan, who are passionate about Burgundy wine, released their first Pinot Noir in 2009.
Until the 2016 VTG, grapes were sourced from a plot of Buena Tierra Swan clones.
Since 2017, the company has switched to Lidl Ranch, one of the sourcing sources for Thomas' own brand, Rivers Marie.
Tasting Comments
