The wine's taste is determined by the stones and rocks. Merino Vineyards Located in the Santa Rosa Lagoon, southwest of the Russian River Valley, about 30km inland from the cool coastline. The soil is a mixture of Gold Ridge clay, and the vineyards are covered in cold fog, enjoying ample sunshine during the day. The sugar content and ripeness increase slowly and gradually, and the harvest is late for Sauvignon Blanc in the surrounding vineyards. Fermented and aged for 10 months in 100% new French barrels. No malolactic fermentation. An exceptional wine with laser-beam-like acidity. Key lime, blood orange, salty taste from the sea, and mineral nuances like flint.

Tasting Comments
An exceptional wine with laser-beam acidity and concentrated fruit.
It has flavors of key lime (small knotted lime), grapefruit, peach compote, fresh ginger, freshly cut herbs, saltiness from the sea, and mineral nuances like flint and shells. The palate is dominated by citrus, with refreshing flavors of lime juice and lemon peel, and a rich thickness reminiscent of lemon cream pie.It can also be expected to age in the bottle, adding even more complexity to the flavor.
Field Information
Merino Vineyard
A vineyard named after the French word La Mer (the sea)
It is located on Santa Rosa Lagoon in the southwestern Russian River Valley, about 3km inland from the cool coastline.
What makes Gold Ridge's soil different from others is that it contains a lot of clay.
A cold mist completely covers the fields from night to morning, but the wind that starts blowing around noon blows the mist and moisture away, allowing the fields to enjoy ample sunshine.
Sugar levels and ripeness increase slowly and gradually, resulting in a late harvest for Sauvignon Blanc in the surrounding vineyards.
The 2022 harvest is on August 30th.
Other wineries finished harvesting in early to mid-August.
The current owners are the Duncan family of Twomey, and both the owners and the winegrowing and brewing team are thrilled to have Bibiana and Jeff creating exceptional wines from their own Sauvignon Blanc vineyards.
