Rudd's Oakville Estate's Best Cabernet Sauvignon
The red wine vineyards are located on the east side of Oakville, almost in the middle of the famous vineyards. Screaming Eagle, Bond's St. Eden, Dalla Vallee, Peter Michael's Haut Paradis, Joseph Phelps' Bacchus, etc. Three different soils produce diverse grapes. Organically grown. Using several types of fermentation tanks, aged for 22 months in French barrels (63% new barrels). The red soil, rich in iron, gives the wine nuances of charcuterie and red meat, as well as tobacco, cigars, and spiciness, and the wine has a full body and concentrated tannins.
Vintage Information
The 2017 vintage saw plenty of rain in the winter and spring, and buds sprouted well. However, there was later hail and a heat wave. However, the weather became mild in September, and the harvest took place over a long period from September 3rd to September 27th (ending one week before the wildfires). The grapes were harvested in several batches, based on their sugar content and ripeness.
It was an ups and downs year, but ultimately produced grapes of low yield but excellent quality.

Tasting Comments
A rich, dark purple color, the first scent is a variety of vibrant, fresh berry notes of cassis, blackberry pie, candied plum, mocha, pencil lead, menthol, lilac flowers, cloves, and grilled meat.
Medium to full bodied volume.
It has a seductive, smooth texture and a rich, full-bodied flavour, with many different elements layered one after the other.
It has lively fruit, a minerality reminiscent of rock and soil, robust and firm tannins, and natural acidity that tightens the whole wine, resulting in a very long aftertaste that leaves a mineral feel. It is definitely worth pairing with meat dishes.
